Seasons and light in Latvia
Light changes faster than we expect. A short overview of how to plan a session in Latvia in spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Tips
Spring (Apr–May)
Soft, diffused light and fresh green. A great time for families; bring jackets for cool evenings.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Long days, but midday light is harsh. Plan before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. June white nights offer a unique window.
Autumn (Sep–Oct)
Yellow and red foliage, gentle light. One of the best times for outdoor portraits.
Winter (Nov–Feb)
Short days — start early. Snow reflects light; warm clothing and contrast with the background look strong in frame.
Golden hour in Riga
Roughly an hour before and after sunset, light is warmer and softer. Many wedding and event photographers use this window for outdoor ceremonies.
